Naruto, xxxHolic, and Tsubasa ranting

kowaiyoukaiOkay, I've got some stuff to say about the latest chapters of Naruto, xxxHolic, and Tsubasa. If you're not up to date in all of them—up to chapter 410 in Naruto, up to chapter 161 in xxxHolic, and up to chapter 194 in Tsubasa—then don't read it!

So, for Naruto, is anyone else thinking that Kishimoto has made it pretty damn obvious that Madara lied his ass off to Sasuke about why Itachi murdered the Uchiha clan? I mean, I do like the story Madara made up—but come on. Itachi was a nice guy all along? I don't know. It seems pretty reasonable to assume, at least for me, that even if Itachi meant well, he still fucked up Sasuke's whole life. I'm sick and fucking tired of seeing people in comms and the like giving Sasuke shit for killing Itachi.
You know what? Itachi murdered their family!! Who gives a shit if the elders ordered him to do it? Does that change the fact that Sasuke had to grow up, alone and emo-tastic? NO, it does not. Even if what Madara said was true, which I highly doubt, Itachi still led Sasuke to hate him, led Sasuke to believe that he had murdered their family "to test his potential". Sasuke has every right to hate Itachi and continue hating him, and I think his feelings right now are just so confused that he doesn't even know what to do with himself anymore.
I don't think he's going to be able to get revenge against Konoha. I think Naruto will stop him, somehow, and I'm still hoping Sasuke will be able to stay with Naruto in Konoha. Suigetsu, Juugo, and Karin can come too. :P
But seriously, Naruto's reaction to Jiraiya's death? I cried like a little bitch. Very upsetting, very well done. But can you even IMAGINE what his reaction would be like to Sasuke's death? OMG, I die of fangirl when I start to think of it. And HOMG, when Naruto was lying awake in bed and thinking about Sasuke? Yeah. That was awesome. I really want to see Sasuke and Naruto get together in canon. I just KNOW it's so not going to happen, but Kishimoto is really keeping the hope alive.
Also, that random new chick who's trying to get with Shikamaru? The one with the glasses? Uh-uh, chick. Back the fuck up. Shika's with Temari, m'kay? End of discussion.
I'm also looking forward to seeing more of what's going to happen, but I'd like to just skip the fighting and get to the plot. This is the absolute worst part of Naruto. Skimming through the fighting just to get to the plot! *le sigh*
Okay, in xxxHolic, I've really only got three comments. I want Doumeki and Watanuki to finally get together, I want the manga to hurry up with giving us the past and what's going on now, and I seriously want to know how Syaoran and Watanuki are connected. Seriously. And Watanuki looks damn fine in every color picture, doesn't he? *licks*
And for Tsubasa, seriously now, does anyone understand what the fuck is going on? ANYONE?! Because the way I'm reading this, and I could be wrong, is that the original Sakura was there until her seventh birthday, and the original Syaoran was there for the week leading up to that. Then, both of them got switched, and the original Sakura is now God-knows-where and the original Syaoran gets locked up by that asshole whose name I always forget. Then, Sakura and Syaoran's clones grow up together and start the journey in the manga, and now that both of them are dead, we're trying to save the real Sakura from somewhere. Right? Oh, and Syaoran and Sakura are the names of Syaoran's parents, which means… that the CCS S&S are actually Tsubasa!Syaoran's parents? Y/N/STFUNOOB?
Also, I would really love to see the following yaoi couples get together in Tsubasa: Kurogane/Fai, Seishirou/Subaru, Fuuma/Kamui, and Touya/Yukito. Can we please see these couples getting together? Please? Just a little would be enough for me. I am so sick and fucking tired of CLAMP's hinting—it's been years for some of these couples, a kiss or even an "I love you" isn't asking too much, is it? I swear, I'm going to have some resolution in my original novel for my romantic couples, even if they end up not getting together, as long as there's some ending. CLAMP makes money from this, but it kills me. On the inside.
You know what else I just love about Tsubasa? How whenever they announce they're skipping a week, the chapter says, "Next week, Tsubasa will be taking a break so that the authors can collect data. We hope you will wait patiently for its return." Now, here's my two points: 1- who can wait patiently when every chapter just gives you a tiny bit of information that makes no sense at all?! And 2- collect data? Collect data?! What the fuck kind of data could CLAMP have to collect to write Tsubasa—a fantasy manga where the characters use magic and travel across dimensions? I can just imagine CLAMP in my mind… "Hmm, I wonder what the ceremony for Sakura's priesthood actually entails? Better hop on over to Clow Country and find out!"
I mean, seriously now. Do you not think that CLAMP is just so famous that they're taking vacations whenever they feel like it? Or, that they're working on other manga and just have too many projects at once to do? That's my theory on the matter. Collect data, my ass. -_-;;

Honestly, as if Sasuke knew at the time. Also, Naruto's reaction to Jiraya's death was so sad. Damn me and my friend like spazzed over that. Naruto's out to get Sasuke back, yet Sasuke's planning and attack on Konaha. That's going to turn out well :) But I've been longing for a Naruto/Sasuke fight for a while. It'll be EPIC. That's the only fight I look forward too. Naruto was such a sad little boy over the last few manga chapters D:
AND THAT GIRL WITH SHIKA. Duuude, Shesends vibes all over the place that she likes Shika, but Somehow i don't think Shiak notices :) !

Yea, tsubasa's gotten really confusing. I stopped after a while when it was all like lovey-dovey in the beginning and started back again and was like WTF o-o. Now It's just confusing the hell out of me xD & About collecting data. I hate when they push the update to next week when you've waited a whole week to have it update DX They did that with D.gray-man and I got pissed off cause they left off at a cliffhanger and didn't even say they weren't updating this week >.>

And seriously, Shika hardly notices anything when it comes to girls. The dude needs a guidebook.
I think a lot of mangaka "collect data" when they don't know what to do next with the plot. I mean, I figure CLAMP's got everything figured out, but they've written themselves into a corner. Their plotline is so confusing that no one's got any idea wtf is going on anymore. -_-;;
I know I'm a few days late, but...
Date: 2008-08-07 09:10 pm (UTC)But yes, the Sasuke-hating makes me sad and must stop. People keep depicting Sasuke as this cold, mean kid but they don't seem to acknowledge that he's really screwed up. I mean, even besides the whole 'beloved big brother killed the whole family' thing, he was pretty much tortured - by way of Itachi using the Mangekyou Sharingan - in a way that would shake even older, more experienced ninja twice by the time he was thirteen - the first time being when he was eight.
I don't really know what to think about Madara's story about Itachi, although I'm feeling that there may be at least a bit of truth in there - that's the way the best lies work after all. But either way, it messes with Sasuke's head quite well.
Also, I have to say, I don't really like this 'prophecy' business they have going on either - not just because I feel that Naruto is special enough without it, but also because I feel like it goes against Naruto's philosophy. Like, he doesn't really belive in things being destined and rather that a person can operate under their own choices.
Naruto's reaction to Jiraiya's death made me go 'Aww'. Actually, it was Tsunade's reaction that really got me. She's the last one now :(. But Shika is such a chick magnet, lol, and he does it without even trying, in a true Nara way! XD
Wow, that was longer than I meant it to be. I'll be on my way now. ^^;

Date: 2008-08-08 06:51 pm (UTC)I think there are probably bits of truth in Madara's story, but then again, you're right--those make for the best lies. And Sasuke is definitely buying into it. Which means he's playing into whatever game Madara has going on.
Yeah, we've seen a lot about Naruto going against destiny to prove people wrong--wasn't that what the whole Neji fight was about? Now going back and saying everything he does is because of this destiny he's got to live up to, it just seems hypocritical and against what he believes. I didn't think of it until you said it, though. :P
Tsunade was so upset, it got me so upset too. I really hope Tsunade and Jiraiya got together before he died. :( Shikamaru just stands there and looks hot and no one can resist him. :D
