HI again people! I'm at [livejournal.com profile] jelost's house again for the week, this time with [livejournal.com profile] siriuslyyellow in tow. Here's what I've been doing that you probably don't care about:

- playing Arkham Asylum. HOLLA BACK!! This game is FUCKING PHENOMENAL!! I am loving it. I'm 43% done with it so far, so I'm looking forward to finishing it. Plus, now I can access the section where you can play as the Joker since I'm at the internet now. \o/ I am kicking ass and taking names with solving the Riddler's challenges. XD

- finished watching Oz and I fucking loved it!! Keller/Beecher FTW!! NO SRSLY THO. Where are the fanvids when you need them? ALso finished Band of Brothers (have I said that already?) and loved it!! Winters/Nixon FTW!! Yes I ship them even though it's based on real people and no I don't feel bad about it at all. XP

- currently watching: Animorphs (shipping Tobias/Rachel & Jake/Marco--that last one by accident--they are WAY more slashable in the TV show than they were in the books) & Psych (I am confused about my ship at this point. Probably Shawn/Lassiter even though I'm not convinced yet) & Farscape (John/Aeryn (sp?) totally rocks!). But soon I will be watching SGA and life will be a happy place for me.

- read Hush. Um, WTF it was so not as good as I thought it would be. Batman needs to stop chasing after Catwoman and accept that he and the Joker are in love already. FOR PETE'S SAKE.

- my cell phone is no longer alive due to lack of money. DX No tweets or contact with the outside world for me. *headdesk* Am possibly getting a job to correct the situation, but that would mean less time for writing, which would SUCK. *le sigh*

Things you might care about:

- Apogee 10b is coming along. I re-wrote it b/c of a few comments that had me thinking about something else I should do, but I'm hoping it'll be done soon.

- Apogee BB is totally stalled b/c of 10b, which means either I'll finish it in a rush of staying up all night four nights in a row or I won't finish it at all and put it out later myself.

- working on my first ever fanmix for a fandom I'm in but not currently ficcing for, and it's almost done! \o/

Um, I think that's it? I'll reply to the comments I've gotten these past two weeks later. Right now, I think I'm off to write. Or sleep. Not sure yet. We'll see what happens when I get to the air mattress and have to make the decision to fall upon it or walk by to my computer, which I brought with me for writing purposes.

Just wanted to update now to say I'm alive and working on shit and there's no need for panic. :P

ILU ALL LIEK WHOA!! ♥ ♥ ♥

I've got to say I've only gotten into Batman canon since TDK came out. SO, it's all fairly new for me. I mean, I'm slowly getting through the B/J must-reads, and so far my favs are Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, and Batman: Year One. I'd like to read more, but I'm in too many fandoms to ever catch up! *headdesk* Still, Arkham is banging but I'm not even nearly done with it yet. I haven't even connected my PS3 to the internets yet to unlock anything extra, like the Joker. *pines*

I need to see that series. Maybe I'll find a dl of it somewhere this week. Hm... XP

Yeah, it's hard because Batman keeps adding to its own canon every month and still has all the history that comes with a character created in the 1930s. And then he also operates within the greater DC Universe, so he has relationships with the Justice League and villains you wouldn't consider to be part of his rogue's gallery. Plus he shows up in way more monthly titles than just his own self-titled one.

I understand how daunting it is, but you've read stories like The Long Halloween so you know just how awesome and well-done his stories can be. Definitely watch the animated series. It's what allowed me to feel brave enough to venture into the DC Universe many years ago. Although you really don't want to know what's going on with Batman in the comics presently...

See, that sort of thing is exactly why I stopped following the Marvelverse years ago. I collected loads of comics, mostly X-Men and the assorted off-shot teams, but then it just got to be too expensive and confusing to continue each month. I wish there was a better way for these huge verses, but I've recently just been sticking to stand-alone titles that everyone rec's (Sandman, Preacher, Y: the Last Man, etc.) and the must-have titles in Marvel, DC, and Vertigo. And I'm even behind on that, honestly. *headdesk*

I'll have to get my hands on it. And, now you know I've just got to ask, but what's going on with Batman now? *prepares for tidings of doom*

I haven't been reading recent Batman comics (mostly because I have no money and because this RIP story-arc has been WTF crazy), but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_R.I.P. pretty much explains it. And when I say "explains it," I mean "will probably make you more confused." Because I don't really understand it myself. Apparently DC is trying its hardest to make us believe Batman is dead. Dick Grayson is even wearing the cowl now. But nobody in the real world believes Batman is dead, of course. It's not like comic book characters stay dead. *cough* Jean Grey *cough* We'll just have to wait a couple years to see how they magically undo this. Meanwhile I will still not be buying Batman comics.

If you can make any sense out of the RIP stuff, please enlighten me.

Oh, man, I bought the Batman R.I.P. hardcover b/c I was told it was good, and I read it and it SUCKED. Honestly, this entire debacle has made me hate Gaiman, who I heard was credited with a large part of the idea. I don't really midn the writers of Batman so much, but Gaiman gets these ideas and he thinks he can just screw with canon. Whatever, I'm sure it'll all be over soon.

I couldn't help you out with making any sense of that crap. It sucks the storyline's going in that direction. *headdesk*
