Thanks for commenting! :D I intentionally over-emphasized how he spoke to try and get across the idea that Bruce hadn't heard him for a while and would be listening in a different sort of way. Plus, I think the Joker's speech might be a bit different after not speaking for a while.

EDIT: I'm also of the mindset that the Joker doesn't talk that way naturally, that it's a part of the character he plays to freak people out. So he's trying to figure out just how he used to speak and how he wants Batman to perceive him, and both of those played into that. Sorry, just remembered to include this randomness right after I commented! *headdesk*
