Thanks for the amazing comment! \o/ I think Uhura gets a lot of negativity in XI fandom thanks to her romance with Spock, which is odd to me because it's not exactly like they're really together in the movie--I really didn't get the sense they'd stay together for long, IDK. It didn't really work for me.

I am so excited about posting up this extra thingy I'm working on b/c it should give more insight into the other characters, besides Kirk and Spock. I think Uhura's actions make total sense to her, and I don't think she's necessarily at fault in this relationship. I mean, honestly, Spock is equally to blame. He's leading her on, in a way, and she's being honest about her intentions while he's just using logic to deal with her. He's not specifically telling her what she needs to hear to understand that he's not interested, so it's keeping her hoping. *shrugs*

But yes, sympathetic!Uhura is a rough sell, at best. :(
