You know, I think it's strange that people are able to accept the prejudice against Spock more than the prejudice against homosexuals.
D: Dude, I did totally gloss over that in my reply. Good point. *hangs head in shame*
I mean, when it comes down to it, TOS really showed that prejudice is alive and well in the 23rd century and I think XI would mirror that.
Very true, now that I think about it... I guess Roddenberry was really trying to say something about human nature, there. (Makes me think of his "affections in the 23rd century" quote, actually...)
Bones has a low tolerance level for idiocy. *loves him*
Good to know! ♥ Best friend angst on top of crush angst is just angst squared and making me go all D:.
Plus, I love your Bones. ♥
So I see Uhura as Spock's first relationship, and he needs the experience of it failing to understand why he needs to be with Jim. Um, in my mind? :P
I like this perspective. I think it's also helping Spock learn the difference between humans - like, between how Uhura is acting, and then how Jim is acting. (Which you wrote in this chapter; awesome.)
And don't think I'll make it easy on anybody--Jim being too obviously biased towards Spock is going to have consequences.
D: (<--- I need a .gif that appropriately expresses that, for real.)
Damn, I knew that asshole probably wouldn't disappear from the universe.
