The banter is amazingly fun and easy to write, so it's really actually harder to stop them bantering more in scenes. LOL! The A/N switches with each chapter--I write whatever notes matter for that chapter or else I just get rid of them as time progresses, it depends on my mood. As for the summary, I actually re-wrote that thing more than twenty times before siriuslyyellow finally gave me an idea. I wanted something that reflected all the aspects of the fic, not just Spock and Kirk's romance. Nothing I tried seemed to work. But hey, if a genius idea comes to you, please pass it on! And all advice/comments are welcome and helpful, not annoying. :D
LOL, actually I really like Uhura! But I know it comes across that way. I'm hoping people will understand with time what her intentions/hopes are in regards to Spock. I have to say, I thought that Spock was way too mature and intelligent to start a relationship with a cadet, and so the favoritism line struck me as being more about her being his best student (which he says I believe twice, I think) and not as having anything to do with romance. It strikes me as very OOC for Spock to start a student/teacher relationship, IDK. And so I did see the lift scene as the start of their relationship, and to me that stood out as being wholly inappropriate. I see Uhura as having a crush on her hot teacher (and who can blame her, I mean really now) and taking the chance when she gets it. But hey, plot interpretation is what makes the fandom go 'round. <3
Yeah, I did actually steal some of TOS canon that I thought worked or I could use without interfering with the plot. Still haven't seen it, but I guess after enough wikipedia articles, FAQs, and metas on Vulcan biology things just start to stick. :P
