Fun Sexy Birthday Post! \o/

So, here's a post filled with fun sexy guys and random kinky discussion--perfect for a birthday post, right? RIGHT! XD \o/

KINKY DISCUSSION, and I mean that quite literally: What are everybody's kinks? I'm just curious. I recently discovered two kinks I never knew I had before! I'm a wordslut and I love it when one guy straddles another in a chair, but it HAS to be done right--like Kirk straddling Spock in the Captain's chair, for instance. MMM YES MOAR NAO PLZ!! Oh, and Kirk whispering filthy things to Spock while rutting against him--HOTHOTHOT!! Older kinks that are still fun are scars, bandages, chains, handcuffs, basically anything related to bondage or BDSM, power plays, anything dealing with psychology, um um umm... religious and mythological metaphors, glasses, whips duh, also anything angsty--like two guys being separated for years before they're reunited, and if it's epic and dramatic and desperate and passionate and flail-worthy all the better really. The wordslut thing I mentioned at the beginning is new to me, but I realized it when reading a Pinto fic. Then I was like "OH DUH THIS IS WHY THIS IS SO FUCKING HAZZAT" and so it all became quite apparent to me. XD

IN other news: AfterElton's Hot 100 for 2008! Here are some highlights (for me, at least), although it's worth a look-through if you're bored and want some smoking hot man-meat, especially since the majority of the guys listed are in fandom shows:

2. John Barrowman
11. Gareth David-Lloyd
13. Jensen Ackles
26. Christian Bale
33. David Tennant
34. Heath Ledger
43. Jared Padalecki
48. Chris Meloni

LOL, that reminded me--I'm compiling a list of the top 10 hottest characters in every genre, both female and male. This is far more difficult than it sounds, although a few were obvious choices. For instance, Poison Ivy got the number 1 hottest comic book female spot. No comic book chick is hotter than Ivy, that's for damn sure. XD

A random meme I stole from somewhere: List your top ten OTPs (in any order) and then ask your flist what similarities they see between them. Also, see what your flist can tell about you from the list!

So, here's my list of top ten OTPs, in no particular order. And by top ten, I mean the top ten right now, and not necessarily of all time, but probably most of these will end up on my all-time list, if you get what I'm awkwardly trying to say here. *headdesk*
1. Dean/Sam - Supernatural
2. Sasuke/Naruto - Naruto
3. Kirk/Spock - Star Trek
4. Roy/Ed - Fullmetal Alchemist
5. Arthur/Merlin - Merlin
6. Batman/Joker - Batman
7. Riku/Sora - Kingdom Hearts
8. Harry/Draco - Harry Potter
9. Taichi/Yamato - Digimon
10. Beecher/Keller - Oz
So get to it, flist! I'm curious to see what you responses are. XP

Also found this! From here: http://www.afterelton.com/people/2008/2/garethdavidlloyd?page=0%2C2 - an interview with Gareth David-Lloyd about Ianto, pre-season 2 so it's old, but this quote rocks!

"AE: So you weren’t in a place where you needed to be educated about it. One thing we found really interesting is that there are a lot of female fans who are really into the idea of two men being together romantically. Do you have a lot of female fans that are pushing for a relationship between Jack and Ianto?
GDL: Oh, definitely. I try to stay clear away from the Internet, but you find yourself reading fan fiction and it takes up a lot of time. Yeah, absolutely. That’s definitely one of the biggest questions for fans as far as Janto. Everyone’s for Jack and Ianto to get together."

I need some new good gay shows! I've finished Oz and am looking for more canon gay. AND GOOD CANON GAY, not crap canon gay like the kind Six Feet Under had (I only saw the first two seasons but BLARGH). I'll write more on this later, but my fav TV shows are SPN and BSG (still haven't finished it--SPOIL ME AND I EAT YOUR FACE), with Oz and Carnivale (also not done yet) coming in close seconds. I like epic shows with a solid gay OTP, subtextual is fine (I'm loving TOS and I'm sure SGA will be great too), but I'd rather canon. I can't take too much happiness or humor or else I'll die and never finish the show. I need angst, drama, tragedy. PAIN AND ANGUISH AND DESPAIR, otherwise I'll never be happy. XP So, any recs, flist? ♥

So I am now 25 years old, which means almost nothing to me except that I'm getting old enough that I really need to get published soon. By the time I'm 27 I will be published, I MEAN IT!! *stamps foot* If only fandom and fanfic weren't so appealing... *pets them lovingly*

Hey now. There are many ways, but not just better ways. We've got tons of options, that just happens to be one I like. ^^

Children really are evil, though. During my long stint working in retail, I'm pretty sure my tubes tied themselves.

Hahaha, I'm finding more and more that those really ARE everyone's kinks, but then I meet someone who thinks I'm horrible and what not, so I never like to assume. XD

Aw, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Nuuuu! I get ya, though. It's easy to do. I hope you're able to relax and go at your own pace, though.

And um... yep. Totally not.. that. *cough*

Lolz, I'm not sure if your multi-tasking comment was a joke or if you didn't get what I meant there, but either way. XD

Oh no, no, don't get me wrong. It's the content, not the quality. I've been writing forever, and thinking about publishing forever, too. I'm actually really fond of the story, though I'm only four chapters into it. But it involves homosexuality to a heavy degree, drug usage, underage prostitutes, rape, murder, and lots of other unsavory things that, right now, don't stand a lot of chance getting published. I know Poppy Z. Brite could get away with some of that, but I just figure... if I'm not posting it online, no one will ever read it.

But who knows. Maybe I'll change my mind before I've posted too much, lol. I definitely don't need any biting critique on this one, though. Thanks. XD

However, I'd be happy to exchange pieces for mutual constructive criticism. I want honesty, but only if it's tactful and concise. If you know WHY it doesn't work, or can give a suggestion, that's much better. A general expression of something not being good is just discouraging. You know what I mean?

Not that I'm not trying to prepare myself to the harsh world of publishing where I will likely have my insides removed with a spork by some jerk critic. Metaphorically speaking. Or literally if he hates my writing enough.

My main projects that I think CAN be published (when finished and polished) often have gay characters, so that's certainly not the problem. It's just the kind of gay. XD Plus, honestly, the piece I was just talking about is kind of written for that online sort of niche. I dunno. You'll see it when I post it, if you're so inclined, lol.

Anyway, I agree with your goal! And I think with our powers combined (our being the many others like us) we will make this a common thing! Gay needs to be a normal situation. I don't want the gay to BE the book. I want it to be a book about something and just happen to have gay, lol.

(getting groggy as I'm writing this, so sorry if it's starting to make less sense XD)

That's good that you're really into your role-play. I hope it's a lot of fun for you and that you continue to enjoy it. It's cool that we don't agree, that's how life goes. XD

Re: multi-tasking thing--it was a joke. XP

Also, good luck on your writing! I can see that you're still working on it from your comments so I won't ask to look at it now. I know I don't always want people to look at my half-finished stuff.

Getting published will rock once we do it! *high fives*

Hey what was your original about again? I thought you told me once, but maybe not. Or are you one of those people who can't say a word about it until it's done? I totally understand that, too. I was just curious. ^^

I'm about to post chapter one of the online story I'm doing right now. I think this book, even if it never finds a home outside of free websites, is really teaching my something about my writing and my style. I enjoy it a lot, so maybe I can draw inspiration from the things I enjoy to write something a little more marketable. XD

Thank you for the luck, and same to you! Yeah, I don't have any complete projects, actually. Novels, at least. I have lots of short pieces that need editing. And I DO have the first novel of a trilogy finished, but it sucks A LOT. Like seriously. I started writing it when I was like 17, and even though it was pretty good for my age, I have (fortunately) grown a lot as a writer since then. So yeah, no full novels yet. Boo. Need to change that. I fail as an aspiring writer. XD

How close are you? Or are you done? Any finished novels under your belt?

Haha, and yes it will!

[identity profile] kowaiyoukai.livejournal.com 2009-09-12 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, I can talk about it a bit. It's an urban fantasy called Demon HUnters (right now, at least). Three main characters and tons of side characters, basically character-driven. Basically the story of Revelations told with fandom characters. XP

Any work you get done is good work in my opinion! It's better than people who never get any writing done, right? And hopefully you'll get a lot out of it. :D

LOL, you're still writing. That's what's most important. Demon Hunters will be a five book series, but I've got a few other projects that range from short stories to novel series. *shrugs*

I've never finished anything b/c I always lose interest. I need to be surprised at plot points and character shit to remain interested. So DH is working for me b/c I really don't know where certain plots are going, and it's exciting to see. \o/

[identity profile] yaoi-slut.livejournal.com 2009-09-12 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
See, that is the problem exactly. I have millions of started projects, but I virtually never finish anything. (I have a slew of finished short stories, as I said before, and that one "novel" that was like almost 400 freaking pages. But none of my current stuff has even come close to being finished because, yeah, I lose interest and start something new.)

That's why I like the online fic I'm posting, mostly because it has a lot of aspects that make me want to keep writing it. I really need to learn how to transfer some of this into something that I could use to start a career, though.

Anyway, good luck with your project! I've never written anything character driven, so this new thing I'm working on is pushing me a little closer to that. Most writers make characters first, I've found. I'm like the only person in the world who makes plots first, lol.

I love urban fantasy, and I'm big on biblical undertones and religious symbolism, so if you ever finish it and get it published (when! when, not if!) I'll definitely read it. ^^
