There are two aspects: actors are entitled to a private life and not coming out, but coming out is great for the LGBT community (that's the acronym I use, I also see it with the G first, and with the Q at the end, but I've never ever seen it with an A, is that for asexuals?).

The world displays way too much heterosexuality. A male friend once told me about a female friend/family member(?) who had a crush for a guy who turned out to be gay, and I was like: "Well, I usually can't get interested if it doesn't feel requited, and that's only 10% of the population anyway" (I was mainly straight at the time, apart from drooling over Eliza Dushku and Angelina Jolie) and he was like: "What? o_O So many?" My point being that people have no idea that there's homosexuality all around them.
