It's true that torturing characters causes empathy, but it also makes me laugh b/c I enjoy causing people pain. *shrugs*

I just think it sucks when people try to correct past mistakes that can't be corrected. I mean, really, what do these guys think? That being completely absent from their kids' lives is something which can be forgiven? Your explanation makes sense, sadly, but I still think it sucks. Besides, it's difficult to make sense of certain things, especially when they're so illogical. *headdesk* I hope your siblings have a better time with it than I am. *le sigh*
