Wow, I just discovered this story last night and I have to say it's definitely become my absolute favorite Star Trek fic. There are so many things I love about it: the way you write the characters so distinctly, your dialogue (which never fails to make me laugh but is always appropriate for the situation), the fact that Kirk and Spock are definitely the characters from the movie but they're changed enough so that I don't want to constantly punch them in the face over the stupid things they do/say, and the way you're slowly and realistically building up the relationship between Kirk and Spock. I love it all! You've got me addicted.

As for this part itself: I loved both conversations with McCoy and his reaction to Kirk's news. Instead of being completely blase about Kirk's sexuality but shocked that Kirk's in love with Spock, I expected him to be just the opposite! I absolutely adore the way you write McCoy.

Also, Kirk sleeps naked. He just doesn't answer the door naked, right? lol Spock should definitely ponder that.
