I've been checking your epic fic masterlist for updates instead of your actual journal so when you said you edited part 8 a little part of me screamed in joy. That's TWO chapters I got to read at once (at work ;) ) :D :D
I have a serious love on for your Kirk/Pike interactions, I can just picture the two of them awesoming at each other on the viewscreens. It's actually kind of hot!
The Kirk / Spock mirror POV structure you have going on is probably my second favourite thing about this fic (first being the characterizations), I love seeing this type of pattern in writing and being able to maintain it without letting it get stale or predictable is a feat. Hats off to you.
Re fanart - <3 <3 <3 back to you. As for the speed, once these things get into my head it's just safer for everybody if I let them out immediately lol. I'm so glad you loved it! Uber-critic turned itself on about halfway through and started bitching about the arms and face proportions but I figured if I threw enough pretty colours at it, it would be fine :D

Previous discussion - Arkham Asylum is fantastic. It's the Batman book I had to own before I was a hardcore Batman fan. It's a perfect study of the character and illustrates how a great hero is best defined by his villains and who has a better rogues gallery than Batman? Plus - Dave. F-ing. McKean (hee hee - fangirl much?)
But I will not be rec'ing any more fic (though two updates so quickly make me think it may not be as big a fear as you're leading me on ) I am much much too selfish and demand more Apogee! More!! I bet you there's another fanart scene totally waiting in part 9 lol Did it work?

-Signal to Noise is a beautiful and poignant story about a filmmaker dying of cancer imagining his last work - a film about a village in 999 A.C.E believing that their world is about to end. Lots of metaphor and parallels and the art just sucks you in.
