This is amazing wonderful. I loved the prejudice against Spock, so clearly a part of TOS. And you hit on a home truth for me: Kirk is the one who accepts Spock for what he is. That is the basis of their friendship; Kirk alone doesn't need to make repairs, or change attitudes, or do anything other than appreciate Spock for what he is and what he can give. (Which is loads, but too many humans tend to overlook this.)
