Honestly, I was a little surprised about where you took that first part but then like a literal FACEPALM I realized, 'Well, duh, it's Jim Kirk! Of course, he's going to have SEX on the brain!' XDDD

I'm more of a Kirk/Spock kinda girl, but my heart always warms when people mention how important those two are to each other.
I like how hyper aware Kirk is of Spock. Like in the training room when he was worried that he might of accidentally ignored him. Also liked, in comparison to the sex raging around Jim's head, the contrast of Spock's thoughts (not-thoughts?) about sex and intimacy.
And Sulu. Eating strange things.
